Every day she went to the Boys and Girls Clubs of Easton and Allentown this summer, she risked getting COVID-19.
Antoinette Ferkh not only went to the clubs daily, she stayed late for free to keep helping kids.
The 58-year-old Allentown woman works for Computer Aid, a company that helps children bolster their reading skills, math skills and skills in other basic subjects.
Helping disadvantaged children learn is her passion.
“I love working with children,” she said. “I always try to give them courage to believe in themselves.”

The Boys and Girls Club of Easton has been using Istation Reading for progress monitoring and instruction for K-8 students since 2014. Here are results for the past few school years:
2018-2019: 92% of students improved in two or more critical areas of reading.
2019-2020: 87% of students improved in two or more critical areas of reading.
