Recouping skill loss after the challenges created by COVID-19 is top of mind for educational leaders. Every student will need some sort of intervention entering this school year. But how do you close skill gaps, monitor progress, and ensure powerful student growth no matter where the learning takes place?
One school district in Idaho shared their story with Istation to show how they implemented remote learning with success and kept students’ skill levels rising! Gretchen Kinghorn, Federal Programs Coordinator at Pocatello/Chubbuck School District 25 (PCSD 25), shared practical strategies to support educators, tips to increase technology use at home, and ways to strengthen the school-to-home connection.
As COVID-19 drove school closures, PCSD 25 moved quickly to transition to remote learning and progress monitoring. Istation’s digital assessments and instructional tools made it easy for students to continue learning at home. Plus, parents and teachers maintained a clear view of students’ progress with on-demand data reports in addition to Istation’s home assessments and progress-monitoring tools. Despite unprecedented circumstances, PCSD 25 saw a marked increase in home usage and students’ skill levels climbing.
Explore PCSD’s challenges and results and discover how teachers kept communication open with parents and students in a remote environment.
