Invite teachers to their initial "Meet Amira" training
Note: Delete any extra information from step 1 based on whether you chose a live or asynchronous training!
To all our amazing teachers!
This year, we’ll be accelerating reading growth at our school by giving every student the opportunity to read out loud every day with personalized feedback to support their skill development.
I know you just thought, “Who has the time for that?!” and that’s the best part! This year we have access to Amira, who will listen to your students read and support them with personalized interventions, then give you tons of data about their reading skills. Amira is like a teacher's assistant - once you get students reading, she'll be your assistant in supporting reading growth.
This is not just another edtech program - your students will be reading out loud with personalized 1:1 tutoring, not passively clicking or guessing. Amira actually accelerates growth - see the proof here.
I know we all care deeply about making our kids better readers. If we invest time in Amira up front, she is going to save you time in the long run. So here’s my ask:
- Take this Meet Amira asynchronous course (click the link, create an account, and complete the course). It takes about 45 minutes. You’ll get to know Amira and get all the resources you need to introduce her to your students. Please complete the course by [DATE].
[-or-]
Join me on on [DAY, DATE] at [TIME] in [LOCATION] for our Amira training. Please come with your computer, and be ready to make your plan for how you’ll use Amira in your classroom this year. - Forward me the email you receive at the end of the training - that way I’ll know you’ve been able to complete it and can support you with next steps.
If you have any questions please let me know. It’s never easy to start something new, but together we'll figure it out and get our students GROWING!
Best,

Requesting Admin Access
Hi [DISTRICT ADMINISTRATOR],
I’m excited to be an Amira Champion for [MY SCHOOL] this year! I’m in the process of taking the Champions Course and one of the key steps I need to take is to get Admin access for my school so I’m able to see which students and teachers are using Amira. Only a current Amira admin can add this access, so I’m hoping you can support me: here’s an article on how to add the access.
Could you please add admin access for [MY SCHOOL] to my account?
If you're not able to add admin access for me, I'm hoping we can set up a cadence for you to pull some of the important data I'll need. There are directions on how you can pull a report of how much each class is using and export it as a CSV here. I'm hoping I could get this data once a week so I can support teachers and encourage reading growth!
Thank you!

Requesting Teachers Add you as a team teacher
If you're not able to get admin access, here's an idea for a work around! Each teacher can add you as a co-teacher/
Hi [TEACHERS],
I’m excited to be an Amira Champion for [OUR SCHOOL] this year! I want to do my best to support you all in using Amira and to do so I'm hoping you'll add me as a co-teacher to your class. It should take about 2 minutes.
Step 1: Watch this 30 second video on how to add a team teacher.
Step 2: Add me as a team teacher in Amira!
Thank you!

Requesting Tech Set Up
Hi [DISTRICT TECH LEADER],
I’m excited to be an Amira Champion for [MY SCHOOL] this year! Amira is a program we're using to help students grow as readers and I want to make sure that students are set up for success in reading with Amira.
It would be a huge help to make sure student devices are set up and optimized for Amira, but I don't have access to all the settings I need for this- things like making sure the devices are updated, the cache is cleared, and that Amira has access to the microphone on the device. Would you be able to help me?
Amira has an article of the technical requirements and guides for how to set up Chromebooks and iPads.
If you have any questions, their Support Team has promised to help us- you can reach them at support@amiralearning.com.
Thank you!

Requesting Badging
Badging can be turned on at the school or district level so you can choose who you'd like to send this request to.
Hi [DISTRICT TECH LEADER or SCHOOL ADMIN],
I’m excited to be an Amira Champion for [MY SCHOOL] this year! I've taken the Amira Champions course and I think that badging could be a great way to recognize our students for the reading they're doing with Amira.
Badging is turned off by default, so we need an administrator to go in and enable it. Teachers still have to go in and assign the badges for students to see anything in their account so teachers will be able to decide whether or not to use this feature with their class once you enable it.
You can find the directions for enabling badging here.
If you have any questions, their Support Team has promised to help us- you can reach them at support@amiralearning.com.
Thank you!

Following up with a teacher with no activity
Hi [TEACHER],
I noticed that most of your students haven’t yet had the opportunity to read with Amira this year. Can you tell me a little more about what some of your barriers are? I really want to help!
I know you have a ton on your plate so I wanted to drop a couple resources here that should save you some time in getting started.
Let me know what you’re thinking and we can brainstorm some ways to support you together!
Best,
