Istation was featured in the Dallas Business Journal article “Dallas technology firm sparks huge interest as teaching shifts online.”
We are super excited to have Dallas Business Journal highlight the great things our program has allowed educators to accomplish during school closures.
From the article:
The effects of COVID-19 can be unique for every company. For Dallas-based Istation, it’s created some benefits, thanks to its focus on technology in education.
The company that provides assessments and instructional tools for a variety of ages has seen a surge in traffic amid the pandemic, according to Ossa Fisher, president and COO. Kids were sent home with shelter-in-place rules, and that meant more demand for digital options.
“It has had a tremendous impact on our business, but mostly in a way that has garnered more interest than we’ve ever seen before,” Fisher said. “We’re running at full speed.”
The company saw page views shoot up by more than 600 percent during the spring as other metrics climbed as well, according to Fisher. Istation has managed to do some hiring and escaped layoffs for its roughly 300 workers, she said, noting Istation recently expanded its real estate with a new lease.
And Istation didn’t just ride the wave of demand. It made some key moves that included rolling out new services tailored to the situation around the pandemic. It also rolled back some costs for users until the end of June as parents and educators just tried to make their way through the unprecedented time – and getting sales approvals would be difficult.
