Earlier this week we heard Keith Cowan, superintendent of Bernalillo Public Schools in New Mexico, talk about his experience with implementing Istation and how small successes led to great gains.
Jennifer Trujillo, Bernalillo’s assessment and school improvement coordinator, sees the positive impact Istation data has had on her school. Every elementary school has a color-coded data wall where educators plot students’ progress after they take Istation’s monthly assessment.
With each data wall update, students can see exactly where they are, and teachers are able to deliver the right instruction where it’s needed.
“We saw a big difference in test scores once we purchased the instructional component — and when students use Istation more often,” Trujillo says. “You can’t go wrong with more instruction that’s targeted to each student based on their level and the skills they need more support in.”
