What Missouri Needs Right Now:

Mandatory K–3 foundational reading assessment at the beginning and end of each school year (Section 167.645, RSMo)
Universal Foundational Reading Assessment for all K–3 students and assessment of newly enrolled students in grades 1–5 using a DESE-approved assessment (Section 167.645, RSMo)

Plans must be informed by diagnostic assessment data and developed in accordance with Missouri law (Sections 167.268 & 167.645, RSMo).
EBRIP reimbursement — Districts may apply for reimbursement through the Evidence-Based Reading Instruction Program (EBRIP) Fund using DESE-approved instructional materials and assessments (Section 161.241, RSMo).
DESE-approved assessment — Amira ISIP Assess is included on Missouri's current K–3 Foundational Reading Assessment Approved Vendor List (Section 167.645, RSMo).

Amira is a great learning platform for students to use at all abilities because it reaches all learners. I can't meet every student every day, but I have the recording. So I can go back and listen to them read with Amira, even at home.
